Resources

These are all of my recommended resources that I use when gathering information regarding the works of the composers. This allows me to write in the proper tags in my music files and give some back stories on some things that may be interesting regarding scores. They are sorted alphabetically.

Allmusic.com is almost always my first choice because they have extensive music credits from the producers to the conductor. This is Allmusic, so they have it "all." Sometimes the site can be a bit slow and the search bar doesn't work very well unless you select the album you are looking for in the drop-down, but it is still the best.

HqCovers.net is an excellent place to find custom covers for your missing artwork. It offers super high resolution (1200x1200) cover art for rare finds as well as common. Custom covers can be found as well, which sometimes are better than the originals.

OriginalGameScores.com is a newly discovered source that offers original covers at good resolution and some impossible-to-find soundtracks that were never available to the public.

Soundtrack.net is a decent place to find basic information. Not all of the album pages are actually useful, as they appear empty. Still, it does offer a good amount of data overall including links to purchase the music and release dates for unreleased albums.

When seeking information on game music, I found that the Video Game Music Database is one of the best to look at. I have had a positive experience while using this site. It lists all of the soundtrack releases from digital to limited edition, even those found in special editions of the game. It also holds a significant amount of information that most would find sufficient enough.

When I was in school, I was always told that Wikipedia was evil and to never use it. I disagree. I find Wikipedia a very useful and valid source as long as the data is confirmed with another source. Wikipedia gives good insight on the creation of scores, history of composers, etc. that is worth reading.
